Virasoft's image-processing algorithms will help Yilmaz Lab researchers with their repetitive research activities both in terms of reproducibility and speed in their quest to understand the unknown mechanisms in cancer. "With the algorithms from Virasoft, we will be able to speed up our counting and calculations, by reducing the amount of time spent per slide from 10 to 15 minutes to seconds" said Omer Yilmaz, MD, Ph.D., Omer Yilmaz who is the Eisen and Chang Career Development Associate Professor of Biology at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT and a gastrointestinal pathologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
